The new imaging techniques have replaced contrast radiographic techniques like bronchography and cholecystography. Ultrasonography of hepatobiliary system is more sensitive than cholecystography in detecting small stones and biliary sludge. Contrast radiographs have their anatomical value to the student so chapters dealing with these have been retained.
