The text of this book is designed to provide a summary of the basics of human body and community health, which lady health visitors, nurses, and other allied health personnel can use as text or supplement with other reading material. The material covers a wide variety of topics according to their curriculum.
The 2nd edition is divided into two volumes: Volume 1 covers the basic subjects like anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, trauma and emergency, and fundamentals of nursing. The content is presented in a concise way that will be useful for the preliminary training session (PTS) whereas Anatomy and Physiology are presented in more detail and for the first year of training.
Volume 2 deals mainly with community health and includes a detailed review of topics like primary health care, maternal health, family planning, child health practice, nutrition, epidemiology, health education, environmental and domestic hygiene, and management and supervision. This section will also be useful to medical students and other allied health professionals.
