This is Urdu translation of Paulo Coelho’s international bestseller The Alchemist. Basically, the story is based on Islamic mysticism, which we frequently refer to tassawwuf. A young boy from Spain travels to Egypt in search of a treasure that he was being guided to through a dream. The search of the treasure begins from the shores of Egypt and passes through huge desert. It is a journey of emotions and the realisation of the inner riches of human beings, it calls for letting the people identify the instructions being given by the nature both within and outside. The success lies in indentifying oneself with these calls.

Description
Considered one of the masterpieces of world literature, ” The Big Red Book” is perhaps the greatest work of Rumi, the medieval Sufi mystic who also happens to be the bestselling poet in America.
Rumi was born in 1207 to a long line of Islamic theologians and lawyers on the eastern edge of the Persian Empire in what is now Afghanistan. In order to escape the invading Mongol armies of Genghis Khan, his family moved west to a town now found in Turkey, where he eventually became the leader of a school of whirling dervishes. It was a fateful day in 1244 when he met Shams Tabriz, a wild mystic with rare gifts and insight. The renowned scholar Rumi had found a soul mate and friend who would become his spiritual mentor and literary muse. “What I had thought of before as God,” Rumi said, “I met today in a human being.”
Out of their friendship, Rumi wrote thousands of lyric poems and short quatrains in honor of his friend Shams Tabriz. They are poems of divine epiphany, spiritual awakening, friendship, and love. For centuries, Rumi’s collection of these verses has traditionally been bound in a red cover, hence the title of this inspired classic of spiritual literature.

Description:
Born into one of Pakistan’s most influential families, Tehmina Durrani was raised in the privileged milieu of Lahore high society. Like all women of her rank, she was expected to marry a prosperous Muslim from a respectable family, bear him many children and lead a sheltered life of leisure.
Her marriage to Mustafa Khar, one of Pakistan’s most eminent political figures, soon turned into a nightmare. Violently possessive and pathologically jealous, Mustafa Khar succeeded in cutting her off from the outside world. For fourteen years, Tehmina suffered alone, in silence.
When she decided to rebel, the price she paid was extremely high: as a Muslim woman seeking a divorce, she signed away all financial support, lost the custody of her four children, and found herself alienated from her friends and disowned by her parents.
When this book was first published it shook Pakistani society to its foundations. Here at last was someone who had succeded in reconciling her faith in Islam with her ardent belief in women’s rights. Tehmina Durrani’s story provided extraordinary insights into the vulnerable position of women caught in the complex web of Muslim society.
